We make the choice of surrendering everyday. Either we surrender our agency to the will of God (goodness, hope, beauty, order, love, creation etc.) or we surrender to the imaginations of ego and all it’s accompanying ugliness.

Ego is perceived separation from the whole – an obsession with identity, differentiation, service of self. Decisions are made from the lens of the temporary, the fleeting – there is hardly anything lasting or fulfilling in the service of the ego. In this state we are subjects to fear which is often accompanied by hate, anger, jealousy, envy, shirking of responsibility. We surrender control of our lives to the whims of our environment, leaving us vulnerable to be exploited by ill intentions.

Surrender willingly to the will of God on the other hand – cooperation, beauty, goodness, service, creation etc. and our hearts are filled with love, forgiveness, grace, gratitude, hope, and inspiration.

Our agency has the potential to be hijacked if we allow our souls to live in service of the ego. There is no filling the hole of the ego, there is no satisfying or gratifying its perceived needs. This leads to perpetual consumption, distraction and a never ending pattern which keeps us enslaved to the powers that be…

Let us choose then to surrender to goodness, beauty and grace, taking responsiblity for ourselves and our families the abundance of the earth, with the power of God by our side.

Additional thoughts on Surrender:

Surrender is a form of gratitude for the life we have – an acknowledgement that what we have is granted by our creator, and we can give all we have in return.

Surrender is faith that which is, was and will be works for our benefit if we allow it.

Surrender is acceptance in the inherent beauty of all life, living things and the preciousness of everything as it is.

Surrender is courageous.

Surrender cures our sense of separation from each other, and reminds us of the pure love which underlies all life and creation.
